Re: Internet access through bluetooth pairing??

I think it is possible, especially if you have upgraded your ROM on the Axim to 6.1 - then you can use Bluetooth PAN.

Re: Internet access through bluetooth pairing??

It is not only possible, but actually works well. I have been connecting my Dell E1505 Notebook to the Internet with a Bluetooth connection to my Mogul. You have to use Internet Sharing located on the Program Menu. You have to set the Internet sharing for Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Networking). The new 3.56 ROM automatically sets this feature for phone modem, whereas the previous 3.35 ROM required a second setting to use phone as data modem.

1) Make sure you have successfully paired your phone to your computer
2) Establish an Internet Sharing connection to the Sprint Network
3) Now establish a Bluetooth connection between the phone and the
computer using the Bluetooth management stack software program on
your computer.

Once these two connections are established an IP address will be assigned by Sprint to your PC and you are now on the Internet wireless by way of Bluetooth. I have been doing this since the 3.35 ROM and still works flawlessly on the 3.56.

Here is an easy step by step vid -----> http://youtube.com/watch?v=VLTxO7SAkwc. You dont even need bluetooh as long as your axim has wifi on it you can use your mogul as a wireless router. You can just use wifi to wifi. Dont forget to hit the Thanks button.

It really pays to read..all this time I have been fooling around with tethering via the silly methods people have been posting. Your method was so simple it beckons the reasoning why I even followed some of the other instructions. Thanks mayne.

Re: Internet access through bluetooth pairing??

I've managed to setup my phone tethered to a Dell Vostro laptop via bluetooth.
However after about 15-30 minutes, it will lose connection. The phone thinks it is still connected, but the Vostro suddenly loses the data stream. I know as soon as it drops because I have a gpsgate connection setup via tcp server, and the client on the PC side turns red out of no where.

USB never lost connection like this, and the phone still has data access to the net, as well as GPS data inbound. I think I'm running the 3.35.04 rom.
