Mogul - No IR Port

I sent HTC an email as I was concerned with my universal remote control software not working on the Mogul. I asked them if there would be an updated ROM or if WM6.1 would fix this issue and this is there response.

"Bugsy, I understand your concern with regards to IR port on the Mogul. Unfortunately the Sprint Mogul does not come equipped with IR, only bluetooth. HTC has started to phase out the IR port on our devices. Their is no way to enable the feature and future updates will not be able to enable the feature as its a hardware that is missing and has been replaced with just bluetooth support."

So for those of us who have heard that this software would be working in the future, that statement is incorrect.

I am confussed, my Mogul has an IR port and it is always trying to connect to my Thinkpad via the IR port when I leave it on. I just looked at the bottom of my Mogul and there is an IR port right next ot the memory card slot.

Did you mean the Touch maybe?

If you have a mogul without an IR port you should be calling for a replacement because mine and im pretty sure all moguls have IR port!

When you ask for that replacement tell them you want the Raphael see where you get.

I wouldn't mind no IR. It has no real function now days. Everything can be done bluetooth and what not. Its too slow I mean its 2008 not 1992.

I use the IR port on my Mogul daily to send ring tones & other info to my co-workers daily. Tell the person you spoke to that cocaine is a hell of a drug!!!
