How To Disable EVDO Completely

Hi recently my sprint bill has been outrageous due to random data connections to the sprint vision network. Is there a 100% positive way to disable the mogul from connection to sprint? Also a sprint agent told me that if I use my home wifi connection I would not be charged is this true?

Re: How To Disable EVDO Completely

Easiest way to permanently disable your web is to go into your settings and then connections and delete both connections, the "Sprint Data" and the "Phone as a Modem Connection", that way your phone will not be able to connect to anything but WiFi. Also I can tell you that for once the Sprint Rep you spoke to was right. You can not be charged for using your PPC over your home WiFi network.
Also I would recommend you call sprint and tell them to completely shut off your pcs data connection.
Unlimited Data is only $15 a month...............

Why would you get a PPC without a data plan?

Re: How To Disable EVDO Completely

I agree I couldn't rely on wifi all the time.
$15.00 is fairly cheap compared to other
providers. EVDO Speeds are just as fast as
most hotspots.

My home connection is 3 times faster than evdo, my work connection is a little faster and my college wifi is comparable. I wouldn't need to use a data connection anywhere else besides those three places. I just called sprint and they said even if you use any wifi connection besides their evdo you WILL be charged. Just last week I was told that I wouldn't be charged, now I'm extremely angry.

Re: How To Disable EVDO Completely

lol, listen to them.... IF U DO AS THEY SAY AND DELETE THE CONNECTIONS, u will not connect to sprints data network. therefore, how can they tell u how much data ur using if ur not connected.... try this, pay the etf, turn ur wifi on and use it... then we'll see if they can charge u lol....

They're full of ****, as usual.

They have no way of billing you for wifi data.

Re: How To Disable EVDO Completely

Is there a sure fire way to completely delete the sprint and phone as model connections? Whenever I delete them they reappear. Is there a location on the phone such as a folder where they could be deleted permanently?

Re: How To Disable EVDO Completely

They didn't lie to you, the person you talked to just didn't know any better. I ran into the same confusion on their part when I was taking a trip out of the country and requested that they suspend my ability to connect to their network. They kept insisting that it was pointless and I just shouldn't bring my phone if I wasn't going to connect to the network. I told them that I was still going to use my phone with wifi for Skype. They told me I wouldn't be able to do that if I couldn't connect to the network and that if I did I would be charged. Some of the people at customer service just aren't taught the difference between wifi and evdo and get confused. I'm sure it wasn't anything malicious when some told you you would be charged.
