Random Loss of Alert Sound/Vibrate

So recently, my phone randomly losses alert sound or vibrate. By this I mean, I no longer get sound or vibrate when I get a call or text but I have sound for everything else. Itll vibrate when the text sends or things like that but I wont get any alert that Im getting a text.. I have to restart the phone and then its fine for a big, then it starts right over again..

I dont know what to do about it.. It wasnt like this when I bought the phone. Ive downloaded some new programs but it didnt start after I downloaded any of them. Ive completly cleared the memory and started over and still the same problem.. Any Ideas???

If you haven't done it try a hard reset.

By hard reset, do you mean going to settings then clear memory?? If so, Ive tried that.. Figured it would work but it didnt..

Re: Random Loss of Alert Sound/Vibrate

Update: I went to Alltel to try and get a new one and they told me to go to HTC and download the update. Said it was a common problem and this would fix it. Did that and no luck.. Do I have any other options beside tryin to turn the phone in and get a new one??

Re: Random Loss of Alert Sound/Vibrate

Try a soft reset first. If that doesn't help then get MemMaid or SKTools. Both can check your system for reg errors, etc.

Re: Random Loss of Alert Sound/Vibrate

I'm having the same problem. I can't hear any sounds. Music, TV, or alerts. This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time I call Sprint and they had me do a hard reset. Which upgrade should I use to correct this problem?

Re: Random Loss of Alert Sound/Vibrate

Well I did another clear storage but this time didnt install any of my programs back onto the phone and now I have had sound/vibrate for 12 hours.. Never lasted an hour before.. I guess the problem was one of the programs I installed.. Now I just need to find out which one..

It figures though, I just turned in a claim and my new 6800 is on the way.. Hopefully I dont have the same problems on the new one..
