GPS: What am I doing wrong?
 

Ok, I got a brandy new xv6800 last night. I finally got the radio updated to 3.35.04. I loaded up a 5060 rom. I set the external gps device to Com5.

Installed Google maps and live search. Neither one can see my gps device.

What am I missing ?

I've tried both com4 and com5, and I do have Location turned on, and I have soft reset since I turned it on...what stupid thing am I missing ?

Did you check the Titan GPS thread sticky in the main Titan forum? It has all the GPS settings there.

For mine, all I had to do was change Location - On. External GPS should be on Com4, and Both Google Maps and Live Search are set to use the windows settings (There default when installed)

If that is all good, go outside and let it have some time to get it's inital lock.

QuickGPS does help a bit if you need it to find a sat faster. It is talked about in the GPS thread I mentioned.

calash - thanks. I did read the sticky, turns out the picture window I am next to did not have a clear enough view of the sky. went outside and now it works.
