Monaco Aluminum Case Owners Can the Plastic Sreen be Removed?

Hey everyone,

Wondering if the owner of a monaco aluminum case could tell me if the hard plastic window that covers up the touch screen could easily be removed from the case? It would be great if someone could post a few pics of the back inside of the case.

I am thinking of getting this case but I would want to remove the plastic window so I can use my touch without having to open the case up for simple tasks.

Could you also answer me a few questions? Has any one heard of this case causing loss of signal in any of the gps, bluetooth, cellular, or wifi? I was looking at using this case and making a custom mount for my motorcycle to broadcast a gps/video feed using a progam I found on the xda site http://www.ix-m.com/gps-beta/mobile/BetaDownload.aspx. I particularly liked this case because of its durablity and that it encases the phone entirely, not just clips on.

i have this case.. i ripped the screen out.. it's attached to the padding inside the case, so just be careful not to rip up too much padding.. they sent me the case when i ordered a stylus off ebay..

the case can also get in the way when texting with the keyboard, but it's not that bad.. just make sure you periodically bend the clip that snaps the case shut because if it's not snug, your phone can easily fall out while on your waist..

rbibb04, thanks for all that info! So the plastic can be taken out carefully nice! =D>

diterex, hmmm now ou got me wondering the same thing. I actually read in another forum that it did cause interference. But then someone said it did not. It would be great if anyone could comment on this...

go to www.seidio.com

Thats who makes that case. I have the slim line rubber one and its great. Doesn't come with a screen, just 2 pieces that snap onto the front and back of the phone. You can get a combo that also comes with a holster

No interference at all. It's also only 3mm thick I believe

Seido doesn't list an aluminum case for the mogul on there web site. Also I am not too sure monaco is simpler a rebrander of seido, where did you read that? Here is monaco site btw http://www.monacocases.com/

I had that case and went with the Seidio case in the end because I felt it did cause some interference with the BT.

Also-
Besides bending the latch, I also used a small strip of double sided tape applied to the battery cover to stick the phone to the case itself because my Mogul would fall out with repeated use.
