new b help with .mpg movies HTC 6800

Have a Sprint mogul. Whenever I try to play any type of .mpg movie, especially any that I click on online, it tells me file type not supported and to open from within application. Any clues here? I though from all the reading I've done that the 6800 is capable of playing these type of short movies
