sending my refurb back in to VZ

ive had it with the refurb VZW sent me two weeks ago. when i got it, it came with a c**ppy old battery cover, scratches in the screen, and a fat dent next to the screen. and the ear piece has gotten so bad, it's bound to go out by friday.

anywho, if anyone has sent their's back in, and since i have a gps rom on my phone, should i just uninstall everything and send it in? or revert to vzw's rom and break the data? has anyone sent their's in with a custom rom/updated radio?

Re: sending my refurb back in to VZ

I've always been told to NEVER send in a phone with a custom rom.

Re: sending my refurb back in to VZ

yeah, the previous one i sent in i had reverted to the stock ROM, which broke the data on my phone so it would no connect to the data network. if i call VZ and tell them im fed up with the refurb, will they send me a brand new one?

Re: sending my refurb back in to VZ

I don't have any personal experience with Verizon, but I know Sprint, depending on the rep you talk to, will give in and send you a new phone. My brother had received a couple refurbished 6800's and finally convinced them to send a new one. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call or two and see what they'll do for you.
