question on pim file

I just flashed to the current htc sprint stock rom. prior to doing to I compied by pim file to my sd card. Now that I have flashed, I tried to copy the pim back to the device, but I get "Error Copying File - Cannot coyp 'pim': Access id denied. Be certain that there is enough free storage membory, that the destination is not write protected and that the file is not currently in use'. I just finished the flash and haven't loaded any other programs. Memory says Storage free - 143.87 MB, Program free 21.70 MB. The file is 400 K.

Any thoughts?

Jeff

Re: question on pim file

Use PIm back up but instead of backing up choose restore.
Open PIM and once you choose restore browse to the location your PIM backup file is and choose it then just let PIM do its thing.

Re: question on pim file

Thanks Lsme420. I rann this program, but it looks like when selecting the restore function, it is looking for a specific file type (.pib) that is created by the program. I am not able to select the pim.vol file for restore.

Any other thoughts?

Re: question on pim file

Be sure to rename the PIM file that is on the phone to something like pim1. Once you rename it, DO NOT VIEW YOUR CONTACTS SCREEN UNTIL YOU HAVE COPIED OVER THE FILE FROM YOUR SD CARD.

Once the file on the phone is renamed, immediately go to your SD card, copy the file over, and soft reset your phone. Do nothing else until you've completed those steps.

Re: question on pim file

Thanks Captain. I did get it going last night using similar steps, the only difference that I used total commander to change the settings of the file so that I could delete it, then copied over and then did the soft reset. The soft reset was the key, wish I had figured that out sooner.

Thanks

Now in the future use pimbackup....

I use it and I have it automatically backing up my contacts, texts, etc..every two days. Love it. Saved me a couple of times already. For me its one of those must have apps.
