Any way to change the "hard reset" keypress sequence?

So I'm getting ready to purchase Sprite Terminator and I love the product but I got to thinking, "What if a real life ppcgeek were to find my lost phone and has the sense to do a hard reset before I have a chance to remotely lock or track it?" Obviously, if they hard reset before I can send, I'm out of luck and my efforts will be futile. So I was hoping that there'd be a way (maybe a reg edit) to modify the keypress requirements for a hard reset.

It's not a big deal and I'm probably being too cautious but you never know, right?

I think it's hard-coded into the "BIOS" (whatever the phone equivalent is) because you can do it even with the phone off.

Since most of the thiefs valuable data-to-be would be lost, I doubt if a geek would hard reset and destroy all the good personal information. The average thief just wanting a phone, I think this is more of their target consumer.
But who knows, their backup software has the ability to overwrite programs in rom when restoring. I bet that whereever they 'hook' into messaging at, they overwrite a file in rom, so it will still work after a hard reset.
Anyone want to hard reset to verify this?

The hard-reset info is burned in and can't be changed...

I think one of those anti-theft programs has an option to deal with hard resets, it actually won't let you hard reset without a password.
I forget what its called, but I'm sure someone will come up with the name.

Just build your own ROM with your Owner Info in it.
Hard reset, info is back. OEMizer will build the OEM for you.
They'd have to reflash it to get the info off, which they could do anyway regardless of the hard-reset keypresses.

Hardresets and flashes also don't remove the ability to track or have it shut off by reporting it stolen.
For that they'd have to go a little further.
