Overheating Problems?

Hello,

Had my mogul 2 weeks now and loving it. First thing I did was load Vetvito's aero6.1.1 and that made it even better. (in fact I am writing this post from it in a meeting right now)

Problem/Question: Twice now I have taken it out of the holster and it has been HOT. Not just warm, we are talking painful to hold.

The battery has a warning printed right on it that it may explode if used at over 140f degrees.

Needless to say, I am more than a little worried.
Anyone else experienced this?

Re: Overheating Problems?

i had this happen with the 6700. I took it to sprint, and told them that not only does it get hot in the holster, but also while charging.... and they gave me a new one..... I guess that is an indicator that the main board may be bad. Hope that helps

Re: Overheating Problems?

my Treo 700WX did this back in the day. the WX had a warning indicator come up on screen stating that it had overheated and it stopped charging. it was a replacement/refurb so i had to get another WX and it was fine. this is a common problem so just take it back and reload all your items.

Re: Overheating Problems?

I've been hearing more and more about these overheating problems. the only thing that seems to be in common is a faulty battery. another guy on the forum said his had a leak in it which may have been causing the overheating. check over your battery, make sure there is no dents, cracks, etc. If so, send it in for a replacement.

Re: Overheating Problems?

My phone gets HOT when plugged in with wmwifirouter running. The orange charging light starts flashing quick, and starts draining battery. This was in an extremely low service area for tethering for several hours. My temporary fix was to set the phone on an ice pack to keep it cool, seems to have worked.

Re: Overheating Problems?

Found that if your i'm running wmwifirouter, my phone gets hot also. I'm in an excellent coverage area, always running full signal on evdo. Also found if just using wifi byitself for a extended amount of time my phone also heats up. Its the wifi being left on all the time.
