Help ASAP Please SD Card problems

I had taken the card out to plug into an adapter and attach a 3gp movie. Once i took card out and tried through my laptop, the card looked like all the files changed to boxes. Now when inserting card into phone it doesn't pick up anything and shortcuts failed. One problem is that i have my spb backups on the storage card and alot more. Any help would be awesome. Will a hard reset restore the card?

--Im currently running pocket mechanic for recovery, we will see.

Newbie to the 6800 here...where do you find the eject buttoin for the SD card?
I'm running the stock Alltel ROM....and I can't seem to find it.

Thanks

there is no "eject" button on the phone, the eject feature is a feature on windows xp/vista that stops all processes with a device, so that it can be removed safely without corrupting the hardware or data.

and once your card gets corrupted, its hard to restore it without losing all of your info. Its gonna suck, but its kind of a sore way to learn not to do it again!

Re: Help ASAP Please SD Card problems

....so there is no software button on the device itself to "eject" or disconnect the card?

So you cannot turn the card off with out cradling it and doing from the PC?

I ask these simple (stupid) questions because I have frequently taken my SD card out, loaded it to my laptop and transferred files.
Never had an issue, but after reading the above posts, I got a bit concerned that this may happen to me....so I thought I would ask.

I don't use the cradle except when in the office....and I don't get there all that often.

Powering down the device MAY help prevent this in the future.. Hold your power button down until it pops up a requester to turn off the unit.

I know this doesn't help the OP's situation though..

Odd, I thought the microSD cards on the mogul were hot swappable? The only problem I get is that I run Memmaid with .dll optimizer enabled, meaning the .DLL files are run off the card instead of memory, saving me some memory.

As for my laptop, my 8gb microsdhc isn't recognized on there... Maybe with XP SP3 my cardread will be able to recognize it... But then again, the microsdHC doesn't seem to want to fit into a standard micro->SD adapator.
