Contacts question

No, I'm not going to ask where my contacts are stored!

Well, maybe I should, just because I can... lol

Actually, here's my question:

Is there a way I can create a link to a specific contact? Basically what I am doing is this: I want to set up a picture dialer in UltimateLauncher, but I don't want to click a pic and have it dial their number.. I want to click a pic and have it launch their contact page, so that I can choose which method to contact them (home, work, mobile, text, etc)

Anyone got some help for me?

Re: Contacts question

SPB mobile shell has a photo dial today plugin.
you click the pic of who want, then a context menu pops up allowing you to pick the method you wish to use.
example : call work, call cell, send sms, send email, etc....
its awesome. i use it daily...

Re: Contacts question

Does it pop up the normal contacts screen, or does it have it's own internal PIM reader?

I'm hoping for a free workaround.. I want to write a simple script with claunch to open the contacts screen... but I'm open to suggestions.

it pops up its own menu, which is just a grab from your contacts entry.

see attachment. you can see two pics on the left. notice the context menu. that popped up when i tapped and held a contact pic.. (behind the menu are three other contact pics)...
so, if i had more contact info stored (like email, cell etc....) those options would be avail on that menu.
in this particular example, i have only one bit of data stored for this contact - under 'radio'...
if i click the 'edit' link, it will bring me directly into pocket outlook to update that contacts detail.

hope this helps ya. this is just one minor detail of mobile shell.. the whole program does so much more.. very much worth the price.

I think you should look at alternative appilcations that already have this function.
