Emergency chargers

Has anyone paired a Mogul with an emergency charger?

I was looking into the Sidewinder
http://www.21st-century-goods.com/page/21st/PROD/AHPG

Either that or one of the AM/FM portable radios with the hand crank for cell phone charging. I had one from Grundig I believe but it wasn't built like a tank like I'd think an emergency radio would be.

I'm not sure if the Motorola tip (mini USB?) would be compatible.

Also looking at getting something like the Energizer Mini USB cell charger
http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-Mini.../dp/B000IOKLZM

or Instant Cell phone charger
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...0V6ENMK8TGHPPV

It got very poor reviews though.

Anyone have any experience with any of this stuff? These would be great for the car. Especially considering how the Mogul can eat batteries on occasion.

Discussion of compatible solar chargers would be interesting as well.

Re: Emergency chargers

I'm actually waiting for a patent right now.

Its a USB hand-cranked cell phone charger. I cannot explain it in detail (since I don't have the patent yet)

As soon as its out though, I will be giving like 50 away for free just for PPCGeeks members =]

It looks pretty awesome though! It does require a good amount of cranking, but in an emergency, thats not a problem

Why not make it a combo, emergency, car charger and hand crank all in one?

Joe

Well, as its cranked, it stores it in a 1000MAh battery, so that the output is steady. And it has a standard 5-pin USB input, meaning you can charge it without cranking, and it will charge your phone when you connect it.

Normally motorola chagers are NOT compatable with the HTC's. Motorolas use alot less amperage to charge the batteries than the HTC does.
