Let's REALLY Design the Mogul 2!! (LG Contest)

the TyTn II Kaiser is the mogul 2 basically, the mogul is the titan and that is the titan 2.

but for the sake of us calling our phones a mogul, and this thread being about a mogul 2:

faster processor, or just quicker OS.
(i like the speed of a propietary OS, but win mobile is great, just a bit laggy)
electrostatic sensitive screen(same as iPhone)
win mobile 6.1
grey rubberized shell like the moto Q or tmobile wing.

I don't know about all that. The TyTn and TyTn II are separate devices from the Titan. They make these devices and then sometimes do variations on them for US carriers but they have their differences. The Mogul/Titan is different than the TyTn.

They are all similar devices though.

Exactly. The "Mogul 2" will be half a generation beyond where the Tilt is today.

That's the staggered approach that HTC's always taken between CDMA and GSM devices.

touch interface browser allows for zooming like in picscel browser with java and flash with a finger friendly favorites and navigation system, maybe a gesture for back and forward.

Hardware based video acceleration

ability to listen to music without screen on

at least 256 mb of RAM

multiple touch compatible screen, overhaul of ms windows mobile interface to allow for "flicking/flipping" between icon driven screens "settings""programs""Etc" like pointui but better.

Dual pull out keyboard design (Like one on mogul now, but when closed and the device is vertical you can pop it out downwards and have a 9 key number pad (keys with dual functionality))

and slightly improved battery life

i guess that's about it i don't think i'm that greedy : )

Ewww people like the rubber grips?? I work for a T-Mobile dealer and nearly bought the Wing, before I had a Mogul. But that was 1 of the things I couldn't stand. It makes the phone look like a toy. As far as what Id like to see, most of my thoughts have been mentioned already. More RAM, internal storage isnt needed IMO. I have a 2 gig SD card, why jack up the price? Less buttons would definitely be nice. I dont need 4 different ways of hitting ok. MMS pictures would be cool. A sharper screen would be nice. Our Bloackberry rep came in with a Curve and was playing movies on it, and God it looked nearly as good as my HDTV

no external blinking lights... I was thinking of just one very lttle htc logo that lights up blue when the device is active, but goes out when the unit goes to sleep..

small clickable rollerball instead of stupid x/y dpad,,, and have an option to enable mouse cursor if you wanted to use the rollerball to move mouse instead of scrolling through menus..

2way USB,, with the abillity of the phone to recognize hardware and take drivers for it,, such as external mice,keyboards, etc..

voice recognition similar to the moto q..

and lets say widcomm/broadcomm bluetooth or something,, anything better than what weve got.. and would be nice to have hid protocols built in,, to use your phone as a human interface device for your pc for presentations and whatnot...

the abillity to use your phone as a usb storage device,

how about a real dang speaker, for the speakerphone, one that doesnt crack and pop when you are talking to someone...

and a better earpiece speaker,

a cradle with stereo speakers built in for media playback..

multi-touch screen similar to the iphone, allowing for more fluid use..

Here's my idea(I know a lot of it is absurd):

1. Built in projector capable of 640x480 rez and up to a 30" Screen (Yes, these exist)
2. Dual Core 800MHz Processors
3. 512MB of Ram
4. 20GB of Built-in Storage
5. VGA Display/Vid Card, with 3D Acceleration and 8MB of dedicated Vid-Ram
6. Tilt and Swivel Screen
7. Full Slide out QWERTY KB like the current Mogul
8. Analog control Pad in place of current D-Pad. And the ability to hit multiple face buttons at one.
9. Four customizable face buttons on Top for use in gaming.
10. 4 MegaPixel Camera with 8x Optical Zoom
11. IR Port, Blue Tooth, Wireless ABGN, and all the other standard jazz
12. Longer battery life, 8Hrs Talk time minimum, but i'd vastly preffer 12.
13. Built in TouchFlo, HTC Home, HTC Cube, HTC PIC Manager, Task Manager, X Button
14. NetFront and Picsel Browser built in (crazy I know)
15. A second scroll wheel on the side for horizontal scrolling.
16. Remove the screen indentation, make the screen level like the Touch one.
17. Multi-touch
18. Front mounted web cam

Thats everything I can think of for now.

I think that the redesign should include a modified WM version that is customized to the phone.
