Annoyance with push email

Slight annoying issue I have with my Mogul. I push my gmail to my phone.
All I want to do is to be prompted when I have new mail...not on emails I send from the account. Anybody know how to prevent the emails I send from the account being recognized as "new" email?

Are you using a exchange server?

I'm just using my gmail on my Mogul. I still get that annoying new email prompt but its just when I send an email. I don't mind getting the prompt when others send me mail but hate it when I get prompted for me sending one. Is this normal?

Re: Annoyance with push email

Not sure if its a POP IMAP thing...I used to have that when I had my Gmail as my primary setup through a free push email service...Now with my exchange setup through my work email I do not get that anymore...So it may have been just the pushing of POP mail?...Not sure, but it was very very annoying.

Re: Annoyance with push email

I get the same thing when I run gmail thru my mogul. I think it's caused by the way gmail recognizes the message.

Just curious, but what type of incoming server is it using, POP or IMAP?

Re: Annoyance with push email

It sounds as if your syncing with the "All Mail" folder. Google automatically stores both incoming and outgoing email in this folder.
I'm not sure how to change this if you're using pop3. If your using imap, go to Menu - Tools - Manage Folders. You can uncheck the folder there.

Re: Annoyance with push email

I didn't think you could do push email with Gmail unless you go through exchange. I have mine set to *pull* gmail every 30 minutes but it's not the same as my work email which comes through faster than it does to my work desktop due to push.
