button problem

today i got the surprise when i unpluged my phone that some of the hard buttons dont work anymore. i press them and nothing happens ( both phone buttons, red and green, the comm button, the mail and the explorer button. none of these works) the power button still works, also the jog wheel and the 5 nav button in the center. those 3 are working with no problems but non of the other.
i´m runnig the new sprint stock rom, and have not installed anything since 2 weeks ago i´m running
memaid, tomtom, spb pocket plus and phone

i have tried to hard reset and reinstal the update of the rom but with no succes still the same buttons dont worh

i have searched many forums and many hours and need the help from the experts i belive this is a software problem
please yesterday everithing was ok and now i can barely use the phone

thank you

Re: button problem

Take it in to a Sprint Repair Center; they have a flat repair charge.

Re: button problem

IMHO you should always get the insurance. $4-$7 a month is well worth it, so make sure you get insurance then the price should not really matter ($50 deductible). My talk button stopped working and they replaced it the same day. I think it depends on the store and if they have the phone in stock. My guess is no more than 3 days, but it's only a guess.

Re: button problem

No offense, but the person who sold it on ebay probably knew of this and did a temporary fix. Or maybe took the phone apart.

But on a different side it could all just be hardware gone bad, in either case I would get insurance if it hasn't been 30 days since you activated. and use the touch screen to operate the phone long enough until insurance kicks in to get it replaced.
