Bluetooth a Contact or Ringtone?

Ok ... I'm a lurker. I've been here for a while and love the site. I have a question though that I just can't figure out on my phone. I want to bluetooth a ringtone to someone else's phone that doesn't have an infrared port. I've tried for the life of me to do this - it ain't happening.

What do I need to do?

Their phone needs to support bluetooth OBEX for it to work.

I've sent a bunch of things to my friend's blackberry via bluetooth.

So, make sure their phone supports bluetooth obex or opp or ftp.

from file explorer you tap & hold and go to "Beam file.."

Note: this feature supports both bluetooth and IrDA (infared) transfers)

after several seconds of "searching" if your friend's phone's bluetooth is turned on and set to be "discoverable" it should show up in the list, and from there you can proceed to tap it, and send the file.

yes make sure they have their bluetooth set to discoverable. but if it is a basic phone with bluetooth for headsets only it will not work. it will need a file management system.
