Unhappy Audio out of only one ear?

I purchased an adapter for my XV6800 that is supposed to plug into the port on the bottom and let me plug in headphones and also use it as a headset. The problem I'm having is that I only am getting audio out of the right ear. Is this something that is common w/ these types of adapters, or did I just get a bunk one?

Re: Audio out of only one ear?

Well the problem is the 11 pin usb is not set for stereo. I tried different cassete adapters Y adapters etc. no nada nothing only the right side. I have just received from Orion Gadgets a Cingular 8525 Stereo Audio Converter 11 pin to 3.5 mm stereo plug. Now the sucker does stereo just can not charge at the same time currently. still working out why or trying to locate another Y adapter that will work. I bought one y adapter that claimed stereo but did not work.

Re: Audio out of only one ear?

Try pulling out the 3.5mm plug a little until you get stereo. It is common for many of these adapters to have the contacts not line up properly. I've had 2 varieties with 2 HTC phones do this. Fool with the plug a little while listening to see if you get stereo.

Re: Audio out of only one ear?

This will solve your problems, AND it's cheap.

I bought two and they work great. Stereo and charging in with a 3.5mm audio out jack so I can use real headphones.
