Re: Stream mp3 library from home PC
I use Orb for my home audio stuff.. it's great! it's got a built in file explorer.. it's pretty nice as i'm a DJ and if i forget to burn a beat and i'm at a show where i need it, i can login either with my Mogul or my laptop and download the file, and burn it, or just stream it.
I've done it, and it works well.. |

Here is a thread on another forum of a setup on how to accomplish this.

Re: Stream mp3 library from home PC
I am preconverting all of my video content, that decreases the transmission overhead. I still have some problems with video but I believe they are bandwidth related.
It's a slow process to convert and you may want to preserve the original file, which means doubling the space. I bought a western digital 750gb drive for $90 at BB for extra storage last month. It's nice to have when your flight is cancelled or when you have seen all of the movies the hotel is offering. Using Logmein to restart ORB? Great idea!

Re: Stream mp3 library from home PC
I'd like to use Orb but I can't get Netbrowser to open tcpmp when I click one of my music files. Any suggestions.
It doesn't open WMP either. The browser is set to open WMP with .3g2 files. I don't have TCPMP mapped to any type of file in netbrowser. What type of files are these? Also, I have just realized I am using netfront browser DEMO. Didn't know it was a pay-for program. Now that I've uninstalled it IE is gone. Don't know how to get it back. Opera doesn't work for me since it crashes on me every time I use it. Maybe a little guidence here. edit: works on opera mobile. :/ I'd rather use it on netbrowser though. Ohh well. Thanks for the info and link. Now to get logmein setup. ( I use teamviewer usually ) Last edited by mycophiles; 04-09-2008 at 12:02 AM. |

Re: Stream mp3 library from home PC
I've been using a open source program called edna to do this. I run it on a linux box but I believe there is a windows port as well.
http://edna.sourceforge.net/ This will cycle through your music directory and generate html for all the music files it finds. The streaming is robust and I've even had friends in japan use it without problems. good luck! |
