HTC Data backup /restoring program icons

I felt I needed to do a restore on my mogul and had installed HTC data backup. I restored to a saved version from a few dyas ago but when it came back up, the program icons were missing from the programs section. I have verified that the programs are still on my mogul (can be started manually from within directory Program Files) but all the shortcuts are gone and there is no option for them on the HTC today launcher , which I use, I cannot find detailed instructions on HTC backup but if someone could tell me if there was a quick way to get all the links back that would avoid me having to do a hard reset and reinstalling them,,Thanks

install HHC (htc home customizer ) then go to download section, applications
