Turning off voice calls while using WMwifirouter?

Hey y'all
I have a video conference scheduled soon and I thought it would be the coolest thing EVER to do it from the beach. I'm the IT dept for a small company and I think it would blow their socks off to see what can be accomplished with the mogul, wmwifirouter, and a laptop. I'm nervous about the sand, but I will be careful- it's the suntan lotion that REALLY scares me! (i just thought that wind might be an issue in audio quality as well)
Nevertheless, my greatest concern would be receiving a voice call while conducting the video conference. It would kick my link and I would disappear from the meeting. Any ideas as to how to disable incoming calls temporarily during the video teleconference? Thanks again- you guys are the bestest!

Re: Turning off voice calls while using WMwifirouter?

Just remembered, I would need some heavier upload speeds as well- with evdo rev a, I'm only hitting 300-400k upload speed... on a good day!!!
Maybe that will be enough, who knows. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Re: Turning off voice calls while using WMwifirouter?

Most video conferencing only requires 100-200K upload as that is standard for cable and DSL companies, the majority of commuting exployee's connections. I know we use Live Meeting at my office and I have seen good video and audio feeds from the sales reps with DSL that limits them to about 128k upload speeds.

I would suggest that you try it first, before your meeting, to see how your connection works.

Will do, but the whole thing is not viable unless I can disable incoming calls during the teleconference. I cannot afford to be disconnected in the middle of a sentence -Especially as the "tech guy"

While teathering I don't get kicked off unless I actually answer the incoming call... Just let the calls go to voicemail... As others have said though, test this first...

airplane modes means turning off your phone's voice AND data service.
