Question Plastic strips on the slider - Trash or keep?

Hey all, I'm real tempted to peel these little suckers off, but i don't know if they are supposed to be there or not..
when you slide open, on each side there are these plastic strip 'covers' that seem to be adhesively attached..

What have you done with yours? are they supposed to be part of the of the slider mechanism?

Re: Plastic strips on the slider - Trash or keep?

Try to keep the plastic on as long as you can... after a while the plastic will get crinkled and fall off (It's just to protect during shipping. After the plastic falls off however, the sliding action of the phone will put lines/scratches in the plastic bumpers.

I left min on for a while, but then I got sick of looking at them and took them off. But on my replacement phone I still have them. I'll prolly keep them there for a week before I get sick of them again

Re: Plastic strips on the slider - Trash or keep?

I didn't even notice they were there until now! So yeah, I'll leave them until they fall of due to natural causes....

I also have left the screen protector on (this one, at least, was intentional). I bought some other 3rd party screen protectors, but I'll leave the original on until it gets too messed up....

just take them off...they dont do anything except take up space... those lil black plastic bumps are there to protect the numbers on da keyboard from getting scratched off

Re: Plastic strips on the slider - Trash or keep?

I would leave em on. They act sorta just like a lubricant does and helps your keyboard slide in and out...prevents plastic sliding on plastic thus reducing wear.
