wifi is connected but still tries to dial out for data

Hi I just got the HTC 6800 on Bell mobility service.

I setup the wifi connection however when I launch msn messenger it keeps trying to dial out to the data network even though it's connected.

I tried to set wifi as default connection to internet apps but can't find it. connection manager just specifies modems and nothing with wifi.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I got this for the main purpose of connecting to AP's instead of evdo data as much as possible.

actually I find this only when I'm connecting to msn messenger. Internet eXplorer it doesnt' try to do this

Re: wifi is connected but still tries to dial out for data

Just go to Comm Manager and turn off your data when using wifi...

This is a "feature" that microsoft added for all of their services. The same thing happens when you try to use any of the windows live applications. I'm not sure how to disable the default behavior.

Re: wifi is connected but still tries to dial out for data

I have this same problem, only I want to just browse the web using wifi, but it uses EVDO. I have stopped al data connections, and it still seeks out EVDO. I don't have anything in the proxy server settings either. SO what gives?

I think the only way to do this is to turn the phone off (hold red end button for 3 seconds) but then you won't be able to receive calls.
