I need help getting my TOMTOM to work

And yes I did the search function and still didn't find a solution to my problem.

I have TOMTOM navigator 6 installed on my phone. I am using NextVisions hybrid Rom w/ the updated radio. I cannot get the TOMTOM to pick up on satellites. I'm using the 4800, and the COM port 4. In the software, i selected OTHER GPS device and matched them with my settings.

I use Quick GPS to 'prime' my GPS but still getting no signal with TOMTOM.

Please help

Oh yea:

My Googlemaps work for GPS but TOMTOM will not.

Re: I need help getting my TOMTOM to work

You need to start your GPS with another software before your TomTom will pick it up. Search for Holux on this forum. Holux has an application called GPS Viewer that needs to be run prior to running Tom Tom 6.

Hope this helps.

Re: I need help getting my TOMTOM to work

Are you getting the "No GPS Receiver" error or the "No Sat. Signal" error. TomTom need to see the software port and not the hardware port. Default for software port is COM5. You can check this by going to Start->Settings->System->External GPS.

Re: I need help getting my TOMTOM to work

I personlly use AstroGPSLauncher. Just place the folder in the root of your device. This one is configured if you have TT on you storage card (\Storage Card\Program Files\Navigator\TomTom Navigator.exe). Just copy the shortcut within the AstroGPSLauncher folder to the start menu. TomTom is looking for the software port(Comm 5) and not the hardware port(Comm 4). Made a video of how to configure TomTom within TomTom
