PIE Stalling Out?

It's usually during speedtests and downloads. During a speed test, sometimes it actually goes through 100% fine with a speed off 800kbps (Rev A). But the majority of the time it'll stall out and only go at a rate of 2-5kbps. For example: It'll go 2KB-140KB-390KB-710KB-712KB-718KB-725KB-729KB-1024KB.

Anyone have any ideas? A registry edit? A new version of PIE? I love Opera Mini but people say it doesn't give accurate data speed measurements and I'd like something that can open videos AND is fast and stable.

You can try the PIE from the leaked 6.1 rom. Let me see if I can find the file....

**EDIT**
Found it! Just install the cab then replace the files in the 6.1 browser file with the ones in \Windows\ . I'm not sure if it'll fix your problem, but you may want to back up the old PIE files in the Windows directory before you install.

If you're using one of the roms based off the "leaked gps" rom, this is a side-effect. The data connection dropped fairly regularly for me. I decided that a stable data connection was better than gps/rev a, so I had to revert to the old stock ROM.

@ jakes: how long did you try running the rom before you reverted? i was just about to downgrade after experiencing the same problems but by the time i was ready to revert, the issues had completely 'worked themselves out'. i dont know what changed but my connections didnt drop or hang anymore after about the 4th day. I've been completely sattisfied with the performance and speeds etc ever since.

I used it for 2 or 3 days. But the evdo was just too important for me to wait. I stream audio from my home pc to my phone at 64k, and it'd drop within a couple of minutes every time.

Maybe it was something on Sprint's side and they've fixed it up. But for now, I don't need GPS as much as I needed a good data connection.
