questions for new verizon xv6800...

Hey guys -

I just got a new xv6800 and haven't enabled the phone yet...

completely new to this whole thing but have been doing quite a bit of reading... was going to use these:

2.40 unlocker

So I'm wondering if I should do it first then call verizon to activate the phone? or activate then do the upgrades...

Are these pretty stable releases I shouldn't have a whole lot to worry about using? I def want the threaded SMS, rev a, and GPS or else I wouldn't even attempt it...

Activate the phone first.

It installed for me with NO problem at all! Only "teeny-tiny" thing I had was when finished with the install procedure, I had to dial *228 and it ended prematurely and when the phone came back up, I did it again without incident.

Which ROM did you use? I'm trying to download the Verizon link from the link I posted above and it's saving the file as download2.php... RapidShare isn't working.. do I just rename the file and go?

ohh.. renamed to .exe and it works.. has the updater built in... nice!

will give this a try after phone done charging :P

well surprisingly everything worked great!

have wm6.1 and the gps is supposed to be working but i can't seem to get a good signal from home... im only in 1x mode so I assume that's why google won't find any satellites?


also another question for anyone reading this thread and can help... im trying to connect to a network share on my pc... have wifi connected and am trying \\<pc name>\c$ but it won't connect... i have also tried using the ip address with no luck... is there another way I should be accessing other than through the file browser and open url?
