DeviceLock Sketchyness

So, when devicelock works, it does what I want well. I just want to turn off the screen while listening to music and turn it back on with minimal effort, but not inadvertently.

The problem is it only works occasionally. Usually it won't launch from it's designated button, and launching manually from programs does nothing.

Is there a way to fix this, or a different program that does the same thing but works better?
