Nice post railslave. Glad to know it works on trips. I haven't had the chance to use it for any extended time yet. Does the gps update pretty frequently? Like once a second?

I tried the GPS while driving around the past two days. Used both Tom Tom and Live Search. It didn't have any problems keeping up with me. Now when I stopped at intersections it would sometimes rotate the cursor around but once I got moving it was fine. Coming from an SirfIII receiver it actually works well.

updates every sec and accurate within 20 feet. not bad considering i wasnt really near i95 most of the time. just on a set of train tracks.

The GPS doesn't depend on cell service, so it should work anywhere.

Is there a version of Tomtom 6 available for download, rather than on DVD or memory card? I've looked on the Tomtom website and didn't find anything and the local Best Buy doesn't have the PDA package available.

I used to use Mapopolis, but it looks like they've gone belly up.
