USB port is toast, what to do before taking to service center

USB port is dead on my Mogul - won't charge with USB cable or wall charger. I have the battery out and charging in my cradle, which is good. I'm taking the device to a sprint repair store tomorrow. I will run a full SPB backup tonight...what else should I pay attention to to minimize downtime/get the most out of the repair? I know some of you guys have needed to do this in the past.

Well, do you have a custom ROM on there? If you have an official one, you should have no problems. Actually, since you will probably will lose everything anyway, do a hard reset AFTER BACKING EVERYTHING UP! That way they can absolutely rule out 3rd party apps messing with charging (idk if thats possible...)

So hard reset, and take it in. Explain your situation, and they might ask for it for an hour. Go eat a snack, shop and go back! They will probably already have a replacement ready to go.

No, no custom rom. I haven't had to completely restore from a backup, is it really as easy as it sounds? Make sure the ROM is the same as my current one and restore?
