if I'm not mistaken wasn't Rev A suppose to let us talk on the phone and transfer data at the same time? I was really hoping it would, as not being able to use google maps while talking is kind of a bummer. Now of those of you that are able to get higher speeds, are you guys able to make a call and still stay connected? I have tried and can't get data to work while on phone.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't think EVDO has this capability. HSDPA if you're on a GSM carrier does, if I remember correctly.

I'm in DC at the moment. Using WMWiFiRouter I got:

connecting to Frederick, MD and

connecting to Atlanta, GA. My "preferred location" was New York, NY but the upload just kept going and never stopped so I gave up on NY. For some reason, I've never gotten those sick download speeds of 1.5-3 mb/s that I see posted all over here but it's still pretty fast for a cell phone.

EVDO Rev. A was supposed to also, but I think it's something that is implemented by the carier. Just because it *can* doesn't mean that it *will*. I guess is one way to think about it.

neodorian, you need to use [img] tags instead of html tags.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if this board was only BBcode. You probably typed that as I was editing the post

You're definitely seeing RevA speeds. Tethered to my computer it feels SO much faster, probably due to the lower latency. ~100ms is fantastic! you can even run VOIP decently with that!

right now I'm in hell... We get pretty good speed down here. Not how I imagined it at all... Then again...

Sprint, IS in fact, ran by Satan

Anyone use Skype over Rev. A?

Skype was only tolerable (barely) over a Wi-Fi connection & a nightmare over EVDO (Rev. O).

My ISP:

Sprint Mogul:

This is with decent signal quality in a Rev. A area using WMWIFIROUTER.

Also remember guys, these are during pretty heavy load times (my home ISP is usually a bit faster than that) so expect Sprint to be a little lower than it can get at optimal times.

Is there a way to tell if you're phone is in Rev A mode besides doing a speed test? From the same location I seemed to get Rev 0 speeds earlier in the day, and later in the day Rev A speeds.

I wish the network icon would change from EVDO to EVDO/A when you're in a Rev A area.
