Official Titan built-in GPS Thread (old)

NEW THREAD HERE: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17032

I had to start a new thread, since after some updates the forum wouldn't let me post all the data I had into one post. I've reserved some space in the new thread to hopefully prevent such problems in the future.

Tekmaven and I are working on a background service which will keep the GPS running on demand. It should have support for either keeping it going all the time, when you tell it to, or by detecting when GPS-using apps are running.

In the registry I add an entry to keep the bluetooth alive during suspend...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Power\State\Suspend

I see there's a gpd0: with a value of 4 in there.. to keep BT working during suspend i have it at 2... do you think gpd0: refers to the GPS and if so maybe changing it to 2 will keep it alive during suspend?

Changing it to 2 (and soft reseting), seemed to have no effect.

Ok this is weird. I soft resetted after installing the QuickGPS and GPSView.. At the top to the left of my EV indicator was a sattelite dish icon. My left soft key said notification but clicking on it did nothing. I did another soft reset but it didn't come back and hasn't come back since.

I ran Visual GPS yesterday and it found sattellites very quickly. Have not heard of Holux GPS Viewer, but I just ran it and it is much slower at finding them.
