Mogul backup

I use SprintBackup.

http://www.spritesoftware.com/

It will even backup your rom in case you wont to go back. Great program would not even consider anything else. Worth the price.

There are a bunch of options for restoring with Sprite. Make sure you are using ROM or SAFE when you restore if you are changing ROMS otherwise it may overwrite something you didnt intend for it to. Also select restore databases. Sprite is far and away the best I have used.

I also love Sprite BUT I wouldn't restore to a new version of firmware. I did, even using the safe mode from 2.09 to 2.17 and had all kinds of wierd things happen. IMO its worth the piece of mind that re-installing brings.

You cannot restore your settings in full when upgrading or downgrading to a different ver firmware. You may be successful in restoring contacts but that is it. If you read the info on the sprite website it says this. Same with SPB backup.

I have had no problems using the "ROM" restore settings when upgrading my firmware. To tell you the truth I cared more about my today screen and settings than I did about the programs. If you look Sprite definitely had directions on how to do it. Otherwise why would they even offer "ROM" (Rom upgrade mode) and "Device" (to switch to a different phone). SBP definitely DOES NOT WORK I learned that the hard way before I discovered SPRITE.
