POS Mogul wont ring - missed calls

Been having another problem with the mogul. Running latest ROM.

It wont ring when someone calls.

It will still record the call. When I press power to bring it out of standby, the incoming call notification will pop up for one second like a call is incoming, then quickly dissapears. Then I will get the missed call notification. The missed call will be logged as the time I powered on the phone. Ive calle d the person back, and they will say they called 30 min, an hour ago, whatever.

What to do?
Thanks for any help.

Oh, I have the call polling thing set to 0, cant remember what it's called.

I had an issue on 2.09 where the sound would basically quit functioning on the phone and required a soft reset, so I missed audio alerts that I shouldn't have.

I dunno if this is the same issue as yours or not though.

Some users of 2.17 and previous ROM versions have reported that not turning the screen off, but locking the screen and allowing it to dim after timing out, fixes the missed call issue. To try this, go to Start>Settings>System>Power>Advanced and uncheck the two "Turn off" boxes. Enable the dimming by going to Start>Settings>Backlight>External power and enable the check box, and the same in the Battery power tab. Instead of using the power button to turn the device off, use the lock feature and then just allow the time out to dim the screen.

Thanks. Will use your suggestions. I imagine of course, the battery life will be even worse now.

Should hold me over until the next rom comes out and the Treo 850 so I can sell the Mogul and buy the Treo. The mogul is too unreliable and I do not have faith in HTC to fix the bugs.

wow, I have no problems like this, latest rom, latest radio, latest PRL.

This is on a refurbed mogul I got when my 6700 died.

It really sounds like you should get that thing swapped out... its not right

My phone used to do the very same things. I realized that the reason was because I did not do another hard reset after installing the latest ROM. I followed HTC's instructions literally which don't tell you to do that. After talking to some people in the chat channel, I realized that I didn't do a hard reset after the new installation was finished.

I did one and now my phone works great.

I second the motion to hard reset after flashing to a custom or oem rom. It has fixed a very many errors that i thought were hrdware based (since the rom was clean).

Another common reason for this is installing 1.1 of Schap's Advanced Config.

I have had this very issue since the onset of having my Mogule. Not only was the ringer not working for incoming calls, but every time I pressed the green phone button or tried to go into phone mode it would not allow me to dial the entire number. The phone would automaticly switch back to the today screen. What I discovered after trouble shooting this is that my Mogule appears to be allergic to third party software like Pocket Breeze & Pocket Imformant. I uninstalled PB and it went back to functioning normally. After awhile I decided to try PI and the very same functionality symptoms that I described reoccured. So naturally I uninstalled PI as well now the phone has been functioning normally with out a gliche. Just wanted to share my simular experience on this bug.

I had the same issue, I went and deleted the hacked Sprint TV files and Pocket RAR extractor and it immediately resolved the issue. I dont know which Program was causing the problem (I do think it was the defunct Sprint TV) but I have had no problems in the days following the deletion.
