new menu. install that program and set one of the items to new txt. i use that and its pretty easy and works well.

Make sure you do a soft-reset after installing the cab I posted... although the button text may update right away the button itself doesn't update until reset (odd, I know).

OK thanks, you were right. The soft reset did it. And thanks for the CAB too. It would still be nice if you could make a CAB that would make the left softkey under Text Messaging do the same thing. Half the time I send a new SMS it's from the today screen, but the other half of the time its from my Inbox. Let me know if you think there's a way to do that. I hate that stupid "Delete" left softkey!

what about the htc today from thr tylt snyone have that cab the small buttins on the today that gives u the options to rotate the screen and stuff that has the new message butto anybody have the cab???

This is what i do...install the version of advanced config that i have attacehd to the post....in the program cahge the softkey when looking for waht to cange it to there is a folder called advanced config in programs that contains commands like soft reset, adn new text message....try this as it works for me and is what i use
