Midi Ringtones Sound Funky

My Midi ringtones for my xv6800 were working just fine yesterday. Today, when somebody tries to call me, they don't work. I had certain Midi ringtones set to individual contacts and a general Midi ringtone for anybody else. When I go into Settings, Phone and listen to the different ringtones, most do not work while others sound really strange and garbled, as if the device were under water. Any help on how to fix this other than Hard Resetting, would be greatly appreciated.

Are they downloaded straight onto your device from another source or did you fabricate all/most of them before installing? It might be the software you are using to translate/convert/create the midi tones. I had similar troubles in the begininning before finally finding the happy medium...

I have a program installed on my PC and tweaked to ideal settings for creating or converting midi's, WMA's, MP3's, etc that work great on my device.

I actually downloaded the Midis off the Internet from my Pocket PC's Internet connection. I think I figured out the problem though. I installed Wizard_reTOUCHed_Dialer2 on my phone (a different phone app) and with further investigation realized that it's not entirely compatable with CDMA phones. Everything's working great now that I uninstalled it. I really appreciate the help though, thanks xweaponx.

Re: Midi Ringtones Sound Funky

Oh wow! Thank you KilgoreBA! I've been struggling with "Funky Ringtones" for weeks! After reading your post I checked and had that same file installed. I uninstalled it and now ringtones ring beautifully! Should have checked PPCGeeks long ago.
