Verizen XV600 vs Sprint PPC6800 aka Mogul

I see a lot about the Sprint device getting updated ROM's to correct various problems and to enable GPS. Does any of this apply to the Verizen phone? Will GPS be enabled on the Verizen phone or will that feature disabled by Verizen?
