Finster installed cant connect to my XP Pro- probablly something to do with DHCP & OR the NetGear Router... but Its installed .. on the device..
thats a start...

The real goal is connecting to my workstation at work... through their SONICWALL firewall !!! ! !!

never had a chance to mess with a Netgear router, but you'd have to allow connections to port 3389 to pass through. thats the Terminal Server service port that RDP uses. It works for me with my Linksys router. I get a black circle around the cursor after connecting...makes it hard to see stuff. and just the lack of screen realestate makes it hard to work with. but it does work anyways.
I just setup a VPN connection to my main box at home so I can transfer files if needed. I know the Sonicwall firewalls, but thats up to your network admin at work...have to talk him into allowing it I guess. good luck.

Thanks

Yes thank you but I have the finster version installed, there's even a You Tube video on ''how to'' for this cab ( blurry & poorly narrated)
So I have it installed I just need to figure out if I can force my home PC FROM DHCP TO a static IP address, and then figure out my Net Gear router...perhaps I need to point RDM to that IP address or something,,,
I'm not a networking guy Just Programmer, I study the networking stuff just to complete a task when necessary....
The fun will be getting my network guy for our company ( who wont set up PUSH on the Exchange server ) , to allow me to get in to my workstation through the company CRAPPY SonicWall FireWall :disgust: :protest:

but truly thank you I have like six copies of this cab file, in two different files sizes :)

portforward.com

they have guides on how to configure most applications with router-specific guides.
