Hard reset.... question.

Decided to do a hard reset now that I know what programs and tweaks I like. Just wondering though, do I need to reinstall firmware 2.17. Or is the hard reset reset the rom version your currently using, and not revert back to factory rom?

A hard reset will restore the ROM to its original state. Since you have 2.17 loaded on your phone you will be restored to a clean slate version of 2.17. It will not (and can not) restore you to a different ROM.

I dont think I follow...

I have Custel's hybrid rom installed and every time I hard reset, it reverts back to Custel's and NOT the factory rom. If I want the stock rom back, I will have to flash it back on. But a hard reset removes all settings back to the base rom state (whatever rom you have installed); no after-installed apps, registry tweaks, etc unless cooked into rom.

Am I misinterpreting your comment?

The hard reset will simply revert your currently loaded rom back to it's base state and remove any tweaks, apps, etc loaded since. It shouldnt revert back to the original rom.
