2 Problems with my Mogul..please help

Problem 1:
Whenever I try to send a text message i get a pop-up that says: "Cannot recognize one ore more recipients or the address is not valid. Would you like to send the message anyway?" It does this even if I am sending a message to someone in my phonebook. What can I do to fix this problem?
Problem 2:
I have PocketCM for the threaded texting but it lowers my Program memory to like 3-5 MB making my PPC-6800 extremely slow. Is there anything I can do to fix this? or is there any other program that just has threaded messaging and won't take up as much Program memory?
Thanks alot

After installing Cube, and HTC Home, and other programs...even if they aren't running my battery drains alot faster. Is there anyway to extend the battery life?
