Keeps turning on...

Has anyone solved the problem of the 6800 continually turning on? I've disabled Mail Push and all other apps that do automatic updates & my phone keeps turning on. It is going from fully charged to dead in about 4 hrs. I'm in an area where it is frequently roaming--not sure if that's the cause.

Roaming will definitely do that do the battery, that coupled with the fact that its searching for signal will deplete the battery in hours. That is most likely the culprit

The turning on is the roaming. I posted this on the bug report thread, it seems the Mogul will wake up every time it switches from/to roaming.

This thing has many bugs, but this one has to be the most serious one. I can't carry this phone in my pocket without it turning itself on. This really blows. There has to bea workaround to this. It kills my battery.... and I live in a pretty good EVDO area...

Have you gone to: settings/system/key lock and chose "lock all buttons except power button"?

or set it to 'sprint only' instead of 'automatic' in roaming options

I get it from roaming as well all i have to do is disable it and it stops turning on all the time. it drove me crazy for the longest time because i couldnt figure it out and the screen is so bright when i sleep, i turned it upside down for when it turned on. i live in an area where i get slight evdo and it randomly cuts me out and goes into roaming on altell.

You might also try loading the program that just kills the screen and map it to a hardware button. If you're in a low signal area and need to leave roaming on, you might get better luck by using that to just turn off the screen instead of using the power button to put it to sleep. I haven't tested to see whether the screen turns on when going into roaming that way, but it's worth a shot.
