I have to agree that a lot of Best Buy employee's seem to be pathological liars. I have no clue what it is but it almost seems like on the job application they ask "are you a pathological liar, and/or willing to act like you know something which you don't?"

We would know before any of the Best Buy employees would. Based on the employees in my store, some do, indeed, make things up on the spot, others misunderstand what they're told and/or believe rumors as fact, and the ones who actually care get their news from the same sources we do. I know several Mogul owners at my Best Buy who hang out on this very board.

My favorite "pull it out of your a##" retail electronics clerk story is:
Years ago, when the Compaq iPaq was still fairly new, I went into CompUSA to look at one. The clerk told me that the battery capacity was so high because "they have a new liquid battery they pour into the back, which fills the open crevices, which increases the capacity". I kid you not!! |
