When it comes to microSD cards - you gotta have class

When I first got this phone, I put in an older microsd card I had. At first I put the camera to record to the card directly, but it took FOREVER to write a single picture if it was on the highest quality.

I just bought a new microsd card. I did some research, I found out that the CLASS defines the speed of transfer.

CLASS 2 : 2 megabit
CLASS 4 : 4 megabit

I went to Fry's, and found a 4 gb patriot card, a class 6.

Now I can record a video at the CIF resolution ( 352x288 ) in a second or two. I can't tell the difference between RAM and the card.

Here's some instructions on the higher resolution:

When it comes to microsd cards
GET SOME CLASS

This is probably correct, but doesn't specify the actual write speed. Take for instance SanDisk's 4GB microSDHC card. The one I have is a class 2, but I can get sustained reads of 9.5ish MB/s (not Mbit), and sustained wites of about 3.8 to 4 MB/s (again, not Mbit). So, yes, the card complies to a class 2, but it definitely outperforms it. I wonder if this is the norm or if it's just another good product from Sandisk.

I have the same 4gb patriot card it it seems much quicker than the 2 gig sandisk i replaced. Plus it was on sale for $29 around the beginning of december and $39 a couple weeks ago.
