Internet Connetion on Mogul

I have had my mogul now 6 months. I have never had an internet connection problem. However, my internet connection shuts down after about 2 to 4 hours of not using my email or internet explorer, etc... I thought I was having an IOTA problem - that was NOT the case. Now, I go to the comm manager and I have to toggle the internet connection button off (and yes it is on), then I have to go to explorer, email, etc and then the mogul dials sprint #777 and it works. Does anyone have any clue how to fix this problem - I don't like shutting the device internet connection manager off and then back on - just another extra step.

I've just gotten the mogul, and i have the same issue. Shouldnt there be a regedit to disable internet timeouts?

I've just recently started having connection problems too. But for me, when I go into comm mgr my connection is grayed out, like after a reboot. Over the weekend I went in to see what new mail I had received and noticed I hadn't received any in a couple of days (it is supposed to check every 30min). I initiated a send/receive and it wouldn't connect. I launch PIE and initiated a connection that way and it finally connected, I got a mini-flood of email. Why didn't outlook initiate the connection in the previous days?

I am noticing a similar trend with WeatherPanel. I have on 3 occasions over the past 2 weeks had my battery run down very quickly (when I have caught it the Mogul is very warm). I think it is an open connection that is hanging. This even happened once after upgrading with the 12/26 version.

I have found Weather Panel App hanging my internet connection. So after disabling the auto update it has stopped, whats weird is that when I manually update it works fine

Thanks for the input, Darkness. Your bring up another good point. My battery ran down right after I updated to the latest version of WP and thought maybe it had re-enabled auto-update (I had previously turned off auto-updates after having a problem before), but sure enough, it is still unchecked. It must be a different app causing the issue. hmmmm...

There is another thread about this running here... common element so far seems to be sprint shy of one person.

Weather panel did that to mine as well. There is a reg tweek that kills the idle connection some where on the forums here.

dprout, good thread. Sounds like similiar issues abound.

johnnychimpo, I think I remember something about that tweak, I'll have to search it out. Thanks.
