Hard reset my tytn

Ok so I have windows vista on my computer so I set up a partnership with my phone through Windows Mobile Device center and backed up my contacts to it. So I hard reset my phone and then plugged it back in but I dont know how to re-load my contacts back on my phone because it thinks its a new phone from the hard reset

Are my contacts saved on my computer somewhere or am I screwed and have to type them all back in by hand?!

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

First off, you can relax.

As long as you have your contacts on the PC your fine. It absolutely thinks it is a new handset due to the hard reset. tell it to sync and it will load your data to the device.

The default sync action is to have PC data overwrite the PPC data.

For future reference i might recommend a backup program like Sprite backup or SPB backup. they will let you bup all data to a memory card allowing you easy reinstall.

Yes, start a new partnership. If it asks you to end a previous one thats fine.

If you need more clarification just ask. occasionally you may have other sync issues, this is normal. i am compiling a thread to explain the troubleshooting process.

yes you have to check them to sync.

Remember the default action is PC writes to PPC so you are overwriting whats on the phone not the PC.

i would highly recommend PPC Pim Backup, which can be found here:

http://www.freewareppc.com/database/pimbackup.shtml

its very easy to use too:

-install the app
-do a full backup (does contacts, tasks, calender, notes, etc.)
-specify where you want your backup file to be located (i usually do it to the storage card)
-do whatever you need to do with the phone
-run the app again and restore from the backup file that you created

whenever i hard reset or flash to a new ROM, i always use this app to backup my stuff and backup the Palm messaging file to restore my text messages

hope this helps
