Storage card problems

Well ive been having a wierd memory card issue, at 1st my 256meg card worked fine, i started using a 4gig sandisk card and it reads it fine, but always has problems writing to and moving to, and now when i try the 256 card i get the same errors ...

i may have installed something to interfer but for the life of me i can not figure out what the problem is...

has anyone else had similar issues?

i can not move files from internal to external or viceversa...it always prompts and asks to overwrite the exisiting file even though there is no duplicate file...

cant even rename a file...

pleas help

see if you can move the card into a memory card reader and move all your files on your hard drive, then reformat the card. also have you checked to see if the card is encrypted to be only read by your phone? Also did you install the SDHC card drivers on the phone? My old 2gb card had the same problem a couple minutes before it died, so you may want to backup all your info if you can, hope this helps.

I had tons of problems with my wing, I was scared to open this thread actually, but my mogul has been fine in that respect, plenty of other issues though! If both cards have problems, I'd suspect you got bad contacts or some pocket magic (lint) got in there?

from what i can tell Fat16 is for cards that aren't SDHC, I don't own a SDHC card so im not sure what that would be formatted to. further, I don't think it matters much if its Fat32 or Fat16 since you can read the card. do you have a memory card reader besides the phone? and can your transfer files back and forth on that device? It may be your phone, but other variables need to be weeded out first

yeah both cards will read fine on the both my computers vista and xp...so its not the card...ive tried 3 cards total wonder if i could have a bad slot on the ppc....the onlything i havent done is a hard reset which i really dont want to until a firmware update is available...

if anyone knows of any reg keys to reset the storage folder to stock or something on the lines of that it would be greatly appreciated...
