Know it's old question but need help with Sprint to Alltel

All I need to know is if I buy a sprint Mogul off eBay CAN it be hooked up with Alltel? What exactly needs to be done for it to be usable with alltel? And what exactly is a "ROM"? I have noticed people talking about alltel ROMS. Sorry for the newb question but I'm new to the whole PPC thing.

PS.- for some reason ebay is loaded with Sprint Moguls but they have like 3 Alltel versions. The Mogul is also slightly cheaper than alltel's on ebay too. Not sure why

Try as hard as you can to get an Alltel one. That's the only way to guarantee that it will be usable on Alltel.
