External Antenna Port

This thought came to me today so I did a little checking. Why is the 6800 the only HTC phone with a port for an external antenna? The only other HTC phone with a port on the back is the Tilt and its for a GPS antenna. Thoughts?

XV6700 has port for external antenna on the back. It is the black rubber spot directly under the built in antenna. Google external antenna for xv6700 and you can see it.

I use the port at work with an antenna mounted outside my cubicle, works great

Just remember with this port it was never really designed for durability since it's sole purpose is for testing in the labs.
