Question Are you utilizing any memory-management software?

I understand your frustration and only time will tell whether I feel the same way—I just this morning upgraded from my device's original ROM (2.09.651.3) to the 2.17.651.0 ROM. My device's battery life does indeed seem to be much improved—it has seen moderate to heavy use that, in days past, would have sapped at least 60-percent of the battery life. It may be only me—I have no quantitative method to measure it—but my device seems to be running noticeably quicker since the upgrade. I have yet to attempt a Bluetooth headset, but I probably will do just that in the days ahead.

Would you share with everyone whether you use any memory-management software, e.g., DinarSoft MemMaid or the free Oxios applications that are available? My device has not been soft-reset since I upgraded the ROM and I find that it still possesses 20.29-MB of memory remaining. (I presently do not employ any memory-management applications, but I do watch the list of open apps like a hawk and terminate those that no longer need to be active.)

I hope that re-flashing to 2.09 is better for you. It is no fun when your device requires "tough love."

Matt

I had noticed more of a memory leak when doing the performance hacks on 2.17...it would use up so much space after a while that my mogul would be slower than normal. I undid the performance hacks and i have much more free space and to me personally while multitasking my phone seems much more responsive. I use quick menu/hibernate and am constantly at about 21mb free after a day of running a number of dif apps.

Hmm.. my experience has been completely opposite. For me, 2.09 had such poor mem management that I went to WM5. I tried 2.17 and finally found a WM6 ROM tha didn't "leak" away all my RAM. I did have memory problems when I restored a "safe" Sprite 2.09 backup on 2.17, but once I bit the bullet and installed everything fresh I was good to go
