XV6800 Format Storage Card

I just got my new storage card, does it need to be formated? If so, how, because I can not find a way to do it...seems to work as is.

It should work fine for you out of the box. If you ever need to format you can do this on your desktop/laptop. There is also a program called Pocket Mechanic that can format a card for you on your device. It is commercial ware.

Yeah I tried to do it on my desktop, but for some reason VISTA wont mount it. I tried to load the SDHC Vista patch but it says that it isn't supported by system....ah well....it seems to work fine as is...and i can access the card via activesync to transfer files.

Thanks for the info....

Formating

I could only get 3.6 gig out of my 8 gig card. Even after I loaded the HDSD drivers so finely I checked and you need a reader/writer card reader for your computer and then format it and it comes up 7.6 gig. I had a SD card reader but it wasn't a reader/writer. Fixed my problem hope this helps.
